DataSHIELD is an infrastructure and series of R packages that enables federated analysis of cohort data while ensuring legal safety on the use of the data.
The EUCAN-Connect is using the DataSHIELD forum, a Github organization per project, which holds 3 kinds of repositories, as a discussion platform of encountered issues and to address new features to develop within DataSHIELD. The three types of repositories are:
- Tutorials
Tutorials developed by researchers in a project to setup the skeleton of an analysis, but also to do setup specific kinds of analysis. - Protocols
Develop protocols to do analysis. Some of the basic steps to do analysis can be formalised in basic scripts, which can be used in certain types of analysis. - Analysis
The actual analysis scripts are hosted in one or more repositories. These contain the actual analysis that is done within the project
